Marshfieldian of the Year

Brothers, we have the Marshfieldian of the Year in our midst. Jerry Nehl was the winner of the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce Marshfieldian of the Year award.

Here is an excerpt from the Marshfield Mail on Jerry. "His steadfast commitment to service exemplifies the very spirit of our values," Whittaker said. "In the quiet corners of our town, Jerry has worked tirelessly to support those in need. His efforts, often behind the scenes, have made a profound impact in the lives of many."

I think all of us know that Jerry is very crucial to the Food Pantry, Knights, and Holy Trinity. I never knew for years how much Jerry did for our community and for other people. I am sure there are many things I still don't know that he has done and still does. I feel he sets a great example of the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:1-4. Teaching About Almsgiving. 1“Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father. 2When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, 4so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

Congratulations, Jerry. Thank you for all you do and for setting a great example. While you don't do these things for recognition, this is recognition well earned.
