Fish Fry

Brother Knights,

Peggy and Bob Carnahan would like the Knights to move there furniture back. In case you have not been made aware, Peggy made a sizable donation to the Knights for our help when we moved her furniture in November.  We will need a couple of dollies to roll the boxes and furniture. Six guys will be enough to get the job done. We will meet at her place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4. Their address is 442 Hickory Hill Dr, Marshfield, MO, which is about 7.2 miles south of Marshfield on Highway A, or 0.3 miles south of the James River bridge to their ½ mile long driveway on the west side of the road.   Please email me if you are available to assist in this event.

Also, I want to commend everyone who helped with our first fish fry.  It was not only a great night for the community, but a great showing of Knights working together as a fine tune engine.  Brother Jerry Nehl received numerous compliments and the patrons are looking forward to our next fish fry, March 10.  Brother Matt Sharp brought to my attention a few things we need to be more conscience when serving food. We can discuss this at our next fish fry.  Again, I have never seen a crowd that large in my time as a Knight.  Thank you brothers!  Finally, in talking with Roger Fleeman, I believe we are close to nailing down a date for his exemplification.  Hopefully, by tomorrow, I will have a date.

Thank you and may your Lenten journey strengthen your walk with Christ,

YBiC,

Gary

Feb Happenings

Brothers,

Thank you to all who participated, served, worked the crowd and helped clean up after the event.  I believe it was a good time held by all.  In case you were not able to make the Chili Cook Off, we had 13 chili entries and they were all delicious!  I have attached a picture of our winners.
First Place-- Tracy Gray
Second Place--Troy Trujillo
Third Place--Jennifer McCall
Congratulations!

Friday, February 24 is our first of three fish fry's.  All Knights are asked to bring a desert of some sort.  If you are available to help with this event, please be at Holy Trinity between 3:30 and 4:00 to help with set up.   Last item, if you are going to the Men's Conference on Saturday, please register. jI have sent a previous email that explains how to register.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and I was excited to explain to my co-worker about the ashes on my forehead when they asked or had that bewilder look on their face!  Don't forget, 40 Cans for Lent.  The barrels are set up in the Parish Hall. Thanks Bob!  I truly want you to have a blessed Lenten journey!  I am proud to serve as your Grand Knight and thank you for your support.

Take care YBiC,

Gary

Chiefs’ Harrison Butker Supports Regina Caeli Academy through #MyCauseMyCleats

12/03/2022

ATLANTA — The seventh season of the National Football League (NFL)’s “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign is underway with players supporting causes close to their hearts. Harrison Butker, Super Bowl Champion kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs and outspoken Catholic husband and father of two, is featuring Regina Caeli Academyon his cleats, which will be auctioned in support of the homeschool hybrid following Week 13 games.

“As a father, it is my responsibility to ensure I have given the children entrusted to me by God the best opportunity to attain salvation. This starts in the way we run our home and how we prepare our children for life. In seeing the benefits of classical education, it is clear that Regina Caeli is at the forefront of the hybrid model. I am happy to highlight such a great Catholic institution,” Butker said.

A graduate of Georgia Tech, Butker reverted to the Faith in college, drawn by the beauty of sacred and reverent liturgy. With an eye for the beauty found in the Holy Mass and a mind always seeking to improve in its knowledge of the catechism, Harrison Butker joins Regina Caeli Academy families in the quest for Heaven for themselves and their children. His platform gives him the opportunity to draw others to the truth found only in God, whether through reverts like himself, non-Catholics, or in youth seeking to serve at their local parishes.

Regina Caeli Academy is a national homeschool hybrid program developed in 2003 for faithful Catholic homeschooling families. RCA operates 20 locations nationwide, including one in Kansas City. RCA provides a comprehensive, classical curriculum that is optimized for the hybrid format, with students attending in-person socratically styled classes on Mondays and Thursdays and learning at home with the aid of provided lesson plans the remainder of the week.

Regina Caeli, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a private and independent preschool through 12th grade homeschool resource center. Fundamentally, RCA is committed to faithful adherence to the Holy Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. More information can be found at RCAHybrid.org.

"Brother Knights, my wife shared this with me and I thank her so much for her support of the Knights of Columbus.
Please share this attachment with your members and men of the church.
Men that aren't active in their families and in their faith as Catholics NEED to hear that they are needed and God wants them to be leaders of their families and voices of our faith.

Let's continue to pray for our faith, families, and the future and strengthening of our Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Vivat Jesus!"
