August Council Meeting

Brothers, our monthly meeting is tomorrow night, I look forward to seeing you all there. Adoration and Confessions start at 5 PM with Mass at 6 PM. The meeting will follow at 7 PM. I have attached a copy of the agenda for the meeting.

There are several events coming up, please participate and help where you can. Even if you can't stay long at an event, just stopping by to visit and give support to what we are doing is great and makes our council stronger.

Dads, we have two of the best opportunities coming up in October to bring your kids out with you as we help those in need.  One is the Tootsie Roll Drive, it is a great time for young kids to come out and be involved. I love making this a competition with my kids to see who can hand out more tootsie rolls. The second is for slightly older kids and that is the Coats for Kids drives. The feeling you get when a kid finds that coat that makes their eyes light up is truly amazing. Our youth are awesome at helping the kids find those special coats as they connect on a different level, so please don't be afraid to bring your kids to help.

Prayers Needed....for Robin Adams

Brothers, we have our monthly meeting Tuesday 8/11/26 at 7pm. There will be lots of dates given and finalized at the meeting so please be there. Adoration and Confessions start at 5pm Mass will be at 6pm.

Robin Adams was discharged from Mercy on Thursday. This was her Facebook post from Thursday.

"So it had been determined I had a mild heart attack recently. I have pleurisy and inflammation. I had a collapsed lower lobe lung. I do not wish these things on my worst enemy. Luckily the heart attack was so mild that it didn’t affect the rest of the heart. I am blessed. Pleurisy is very painful."

Brothers please continue to pray for Robin while she heals and has follow-up appointments.

Brothers, Robin Adams, went into the hospital yesterday morning. She had severe chest pains, the worst she has ever had. She had Chuck call an ambulance to take here to Mercy. The doctors ran several tests, she had to stay there last night. They know it wasn't a heart attack, she does have fluid on her lungs and it is painful to breathe. I believe she is still there. They have been doing tests all day, some of which were very painful. Please pray that her pain be eased, she can get some peaceful rest, and that God will heal her.

Brendan Durby spoke with Travis Hurst today on the phone. While on the phone Travis said he was involved in a terrible bike wreck. Travis is recovering but I am sure he could use prayers.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit for Healing

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Breathe your healing breath into the depths of Robin Adams and Travis Hurst, bringing light where there is darkness, and renewal where there is brokenness. Heal our spiritual blindness and grant us the grace to see Christ in this trial. Amen.

Dana Gardner passed away

Brothers, John Tieskotter messaged me this morning that his brother-in-law, Dana Gardner passed away. Dan lived near Elma, Iowa, he had been battling cancer. Please pray for the repose of his soul and for the peace of God to ease the pain and sorrow his family feels.

Prayer for Eternal Rest
In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love;  deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest.  The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but the fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

Brothers this past Tuesday Richard Holland was able at our Insulation of Officers and let us know that his wife had fallen and broke her right clavicle. Please pray for healing for her and pray for Richard as he had not been feeling the best.

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and consoler of all who put their trust in you, we humbly commend into your compassionate regard our brother/sister (insert name). Look mercifully upon their injury, ease their suffering, and grant them a swift recovery.

Prayer Request Tim Casey Family

Brothers, I was messaged earlier and was informed that Tim Casey's brother passed away this past week. Tim's brother's name is Jim Casey, please join me in praying for the repose of his soul. Tim and Debbie will be going to Minnesota this week, please pray for safe travels. Tim lost his sister this past November and now his brother please pray for comfort and peace for the whole family during this time.

Lord,
Jim Casey is gone now from this earthly dwelling,
and has left behind those who mourn his absence.
Grant that his family may hold his memory dear,
never bitter for what they have lost
nor in regret for the past,
but always in hope of the eternal Kingdom
where you will bring them together again.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

I know that the Slate of Officers in the Minutes is not complete, I will be seeking a motion to correct that before we approve the Minutes.
