Jerry's Funeral

Brothers, tomorrow morning at 9am Nikki Moore and the PCCW will be at the Hall behind Holy Trinity to set up for the funeral dinner for Jerry. If any of you can help I know it would be greatly appreciated. As for the food for the dinner the Knights are taking care of the meat, rolls, mash potatoes and gravy. All of which has already been taken care of thanks to SK Gary Gray. There is a request though for desserts and salads, if you can help with either one it would be great. The Hall will be open around 8am on Tuesday to drop off dishes before the funeral Mass. If you need to drop off tomorrow morning or at a different time it can be arranged. Thank you brothers for all your help.

As for the Knights at the visitation and the funeral, I spoke with our Worthy DD Andy Garcia tonight and it sounds like we will have the Honor Guard at both. Depending on how many Honor Guard members are at the visitation we may still need some Knights to rotate in and stand next to Jerry.

Tomorrow night is the visitation at 6pm at Day's Funeral Home Marshfield. Jerry's funeral Mass will be Monday at 10am at Holy Trinity Marshfield. After Mass we will go to Marshfield Cemetery on White Oak where Jerry will be laid to rest. After there is a funeral dinner in the Hall behind Holy Trinity.

Passing of Jerry Nehl

Brother Knights, I have some sad news our brother, Jerry Nehl, has passed away  and has gone home to be with the Lord.

Earlier today, I received word from Annie Nehl and Deacon Mike that Jerry’s time was near. I tried to get an email together while at work but could not. After I left work I went to Jerry and Annie's. While there Jerry passed away peacefully with Annie by his side. Although we knew this day was approaching, it still feels far too soon.

Jerry was an amazing man and a true example of what it means to be a Knight, living a life dedicated to charity and faith. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Please join me in praying for the repose of Jerry's soul and for comfort and peace for Annie and their entire family during this difficult time. I will notify everyone once arrangements are made.

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen".

Duties list for church ushers

Subject: Duties list for church ushers
To:

At the last Knights of Columbus meeting, I mentioned we had created a list of duties for church ushers. The attached list is being sent to all Knights and known ushers and covers the most common things ushers do, so both long-time and new ushers are aware. This hopefully will help reduce instances where lights get left on, doors are left unlocked, or money collection issues occur.

You can also use the list as a recruitment tool for people considering being an usher.

Let me know if you see a need for changes or additions.

Thanks,

January Council Mtg

Brothers, we have a meeting on January 13 at 7pm. Adoration and confessions start at 5:30pm and Mass at 6pm. I hope everyone can make it this month. We will be planning our Lenten fish frys, along with updates on all the things that have been going on this last month. We will also be holding our monthly meeting 50/50 raffle, if you are present and your name is drawn then you will win half the amount that is in the box which I know was over $100. That means if you're there and your name is drawn you're walking away with at least 50 bucks.

Roses for Life

Brothers, this weekend we will be handing out the roses for roses for life. We hand these out to parishioners on their way into Mass so they can fill them out and turn them in with the collection or after Mass. I will need Knights to help with this before and after Mass. I will make sure that the roses are up in the entry way at Holy Trinity to be handed out tonight and that pencils are in the pews.

Also if you don't know on January 16 there is a "9 Days for Life" Novena starting. If you go to this website https://www.respectlife.org/9-days-daily-prayers you will find daily prayers and reflection laid out for the Novena.

Catholics nationwide are invited to pray “9 Days for Life,” an annual Respect Life novena, starting Friday, January 16.

In the Catholic Church, a ‘novena’ consists of prayers over nine successive days, and this particular novena is an opportunity for prayer and penance in observance of the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children on January 22.

All are invited to sign up! Participants may access the novena or subscribe to receive the daily prayers by email or text message in English at 9daysforlife.com or in Spanish at respectlife.org/9-dias-por-la-vida

The overarching intention of the novena is the end to abortion. Each daily prayer intention highlights a related topic and is accompanied by a reflection, educational information, and suggested daily actions. A resource kit is available, featuring the daily prayer intentions and reflections, in both English and Spanish. A press kit is also available.

Prayers for Brandon Darby Dec 15th,2025

Brendan had a bone spur which began bleeding. The hospital gave him antibiotics and took care of the problem. I took him communion yesterday and he was supposed to be released yesterday. Have not heard from him today, so my guess is that he was released. He should be at Marshfield Place again. He could still use prayers for continued healing.

Brothers, Brendan Darby is in the hospital, I was told that he has an issue with his foot. I am not sure what the issue is but given that he has been there for a couple of days it must be serious. Please pray for God's healing touch to heal Brendan.

God Almighty, Heavenly Father, Physician of our souls and bodies, You, who sent Your only-begotten Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, to heal every sickness and infirmity, visit and heal also Your sick and distressed Knights and their beloved from all physical and spiritual ailments. Through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, grant these Knights and their beloved, patience in their sickness, strength of body and spirit, and recovery of health. Lord, You have taught us through Your Word to pray for each other that we may be healed.  We pray, heal your servants and grant to them the gift of complete health.  For You are the source of healing and to You we give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen!

Shoes for kids....

Brothers, during our last meeting we discussed and approved giving $200 to help with setting up a shoe closet out in Conway at Ezard Elementary School. This item was brought to us by the Lebanon Council as they had voted to do it, but wanted to know if we would like to join them in funding it as Conway is a part of our council. I have let their GK Steve Norris know that we can do $200 of the initial cost. We have been invited to attend the delivery of the shoes and to present our check to Shoes from the Heart. This Tuesday December 9th at 11:15 at Ezard Elementary in Conway. If you can join, please do so, this is a great way for us to support part of our community. I will be unable to attend but Howard will be there to present the check. It would be nice if we could get a few of our Conway Knights to attend.

Our monthly meeting will be that night as well. Come at 5pm for Adoration and Confession, with us being in advent we should all go to Reconciliation as we prepare for the coming of our Lord. Mass will be at 6pm with our meeting to follow at 7pm. Hope to see you all there.

Matt Wingo will be collecting dues this month as well.
