Camp Renewal

Thank you to all that helped out at Camp Renewal. We had four kids at camp from Holy Trinity during this last session, two of which were my own. According to my son, the pulled pork was really good. Thank you to Jerry Nehl and Gary Gray for being the master chefs. John Tieskotter, Matt Sharpe, Gary Gray, Mike Weigand, Brendan Darby, Chuck Adams, Father Francis, and myself served over 100 campers and staff members. The youth included us into their after meal chants, it was a very fun and rewarding evening. Father Francis was there for Confessions but did help us with drinks and visited during meal time.

Thank you also, to all the Knights that helped with Masses this weekend for the fifth Sunday. As well as all the Knights that helped with coffee and donuts this month.

Prayers

Brother Knights, this morning I learned that Deacon Mike's mother passed away from this life. Michelle has asked that all of the Knights Pray for the repose of the soul of Joyce Fritz. She passed away peacefully in her sleep last night.

I would like to express my condolences to him and his family, I would like to  thank him for celebrating Mass with all of us at Holy Trinity and for leading Coffee and Questions. What demonstration of the words from the Prayer for Vocations,  "Who think of others before themselves."

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.  May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen.

Prayers Thelma Dudley

Hello Brothers, I received an email earlier today from Gary Gray that he wanted me to pass on. The first is about the passing of Thelma Dudley who was a long time member of the Conway Parish and supporter of the Knights.

From Russ and Gina
Thelma Dudley, lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart in Conway, passed away yesterday peacefully in her sleep at home.  She was a big supporter of the Knights of Columbus and a dear friend.  I'm sure that several of the Knights knew Thelma very well.  If anyone would like to pay their respects, there will be a Rosary on Monday the 24th at 6pm at Days Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart, Conway at 10am, Tuesday.
Please pray for her family.

” Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

Second is Gary's father-in-law is in need of prayers.

Thursday afternoon, my 80 year old father-in-law fell off the deck into a concrete pillar.  I took him to the Cox emergency room and he had x-rays, CT, and MRI of his upper body looking for tears and/or broken bones. We were at the ER from 6:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. Friday morning.  Thank goodness he did not have any broken/fractured bones or tears, but he is in a great deal of pain and can not use his arms at this time.  It will take some time before he is back to being 100%. Please pray for healing of the body and mind.

Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for the recovery of Gary's father-in-law from his injury. We ask that you heal his wounds and return him to a state of wellness. We also pray for his family, friends, and loved ones who are affected by this injury. May they find comfort in knowing that you are with them during this difficult time. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives, amen.

Update on Tony McDaniel

Update on Tony McDaniel, he got out of the hospital on Monday and returned to work on Wednesday. He says he is feeling good and that work went well.

Gina Rouse sent me this message and I wanted to pass it on.
"Thank you to you and all the Knights for supporting Sacred Heart in Conway not only for the Ice Cream Social but for supporting our church in general. It was a great turnout!!!! Again, I appreciate all of the support."
Russel please tell Gina how much we appreciate all she does to support us Knights, if it wasn't for the support of good women like her we couldn't do nearly as much.

The Ice Cream Social looked like it was a success, I would like to thank all the Knights that made it out to Conway, there were several of youi. I enjoyed seeing Knights from Conway that I hadn't seen in a while, also the food was really good.  It was nice to see Bishop Rice, even if he dove between cars when he saw me driving by. I know my kids had a great time out there, thank you to all of our Conway Knights and the whole Parish.

Please remember we have Camp Renewal coming up this week, on Thursday the 27th. If you can please come help, I will send out another email with more info this weekend. Knights also have coffee and donuts this month after 10:30 Mass, as well as 5th Sunday this month.

"Thank you, Father, for having created us and given us to each other in the human family. Thank you for being with us in all our joys and sorrows, for your comfort in our sadness, your companionship in our loneliness. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow, and for the whole of our lives. Thank you for friends, for health, and for grace. May we live this and everyday conscious of all that has been given to us." Amen

Tony McDaniel

Hello Brother Knights, I was contacted tonight by Tony McDaniel, one of our newest Knights. He let me know that he suffered a heart attack today, the doctors have already put a stint in. He is doing well, but would just appreciate any and all prayers. Please pray for him during this time of recovery but also for his family as well.

Merciful Jesus, during Your life on earth You showed great concern for the sick and the infirm. Have compassion now on those who are suffering from heart disease. Grant them a healing of mind and body and restore their strength and spirit. Comfort them with the knowledge that we are praying for them, and give them peace with a sense of Your Presence. Amen.

A Big Thank You

First off I want to give a huge thank you to everyone that helped tonight at the fish fry and made it a great success. Special thanks to our newest Knights, that this was the first time helping out. I hope you enjoyed it and will come back and help. A big thanks goes out to all that made a dessert for the pie auction, if it was your wife who made it please extend our gratitude. All the desserts looked so good and tasty. We had Justin Buchanan do the auctioneering for the dessert auction, he and his daughter did a great job. He would not take anything for his services, he said he lives to do the Lord's work. We had people lining up and paying before five but once the food got rolling we stayed on top of things well. We were able to raise over six thousand between the desserts, food, and donations for Daisy and her family. It is truly powerful to see so many come out to help those in need.

Second, the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build that was coming up tomorrow morning has been canceled as they still have stock and want to wait till it's cooler. They are planning on doing one in September when there is more info I will pass it on to you.

However we still have the ice cream social out in Conway tomorrow evening. Mass is at 4pm in Conway and the social will be after. Knights we need to pack the church and the social. I loved being part of the precision there and they appreciated us. I feel like we don't always do a great job supporting our brothers out there and this is one of those times that we can.

A couple reminders: Knights have coffee and donuts after 10:30 Mass in Marshfield this month.  July 27th we are serving food out at camp renewal out by Conway. We also have a 5th Sunday this month, which means we will need Knights to serve at the Masses.

Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side.

We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us. We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.

Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom.

Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know Christ and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things.   Amen.

Council July Events

Thank you to all the Knights that came to help at the parade. Howard thank you for yet again pulling the float with your tractor. Russell thanks for bringing the float to town and taking it back home till the next parade. John Tieskotter and all those that helped get the float ready, it looked great like always. Thanks to Jerry and Annie for having sandwiches for us when we got back to the hall. We had a great turnout this year for the parade. Bob got some great pictures of the float and us Knights.

The Fair was probably the busiest I have ever seen, for five hours straight we were serving someone. Thank you to Mike Weigand and Carol Coleman for getting a couple of flyers for the benefit fish and pie auction, I know a lot of people saw the flyers tonight. It also didn't hurt that John and Bob were making sure to point it out when people paid. Thank you to Matt Sharp, Richard, Steven, Gary, Matt Wingo, Mike, John, Bob, and Brendan for all the hard work tonight. It was a lot of food but was definitely a good night serving with you gentlemen. I know Jerry Nehl wanted to be there but even though he couldn't be he made sure we had our aprons.

Upcoming dates to remember,  July 11th Knights meeting at 7pm, July 14th fish fry and pie auction, July 15th 8am Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build Marshfield fairgrounds, July 15th Ice cream social at Sacred Heart Conway would love for all marshfield knights to go, July 16th installation of officers after 10:30 Mass, July 27th cooking and serving the kids at Camp Renewal, July 30th is a 5th Sunday so we will Knights to serve at Masses. Please help where and when you can.

Father Francis

Father Francis and his family back in India are in need of prayers. His dad is 85 and has been diagnosed with cancer. While Father Francis is not sure of what kind, he did say it was in his abdomen. Due to his dad's age he is not a candidate for chemo or surgery.  Father Francis' mother is not in the best of health, she has knee pain and has issues with her hands, but she is trying to take care of his dad. Since her health is not the best, Father Francis and his siblings are trying to help pay someone who will travel to their village from the city to help take care of his dad.

Father Francis himself is in need of prayers as he was told not long ago that he needs cataract surgery. He has been having some issues with his eyesight, which has led to him having a hard time reading occasionally.

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and consoler of our weakness, who delivered Peter’s mother-in-law and the ruler’s son from a high fever; who restored strength to the paralytic, cleansed the lepers, healed the centurion’s servant; who saved the woman suffering from hemorrhage, raised up the man lying helpless on his pallet at the pool of Bethsaida, went about the towns and villages healing all kinds of ailments … may the sick … be freed from their illness and restored in body and mind, and may rightly see fit to praise your power until the end of their days; you who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

4th of July Parade

Hello Brothers, I wanted to ask all Knights that can please join us tomorrow morning for the Marshfield 4th of July Parade. It is an awesome experience bring your family along to help. I know my twins will be helping pass out tootsie rolls. If you can't walk the whole thing or any of it, bring a chair and ride on the ship/ float. We will be leaving the church for line up at 8:30am if you want to show up closer to start time that works.

Next the Webster County Fair starts tomorrow night, and we will be serving food there in the Dishman building for Shelia. She helps us out with our fish fries and donated food to Jack's funeral dinner, please help and have a good time while we help her. I believe we need a few there about 4pm to help get things going, then we will need more throughout the night.

Both of these activities are great opportunities for us Knights to be present in our community so if you can please show up and help.

May the good Lord be with and protect all who are traveling and/or setting off fireworks this 4th of July.

Honor Gaurd will not wear regalia due to the hot weather but we plan on wearing polo or KofC t-shirts.
Thank you.

DD53 David

Brothers,

We are registered for Marshfield's 144th 4th of July Parade.  Russel Rouse will tow the float to Holy Trinity Monday.  The following morning, the float will depart from the Holy Trinity at 8:30 a.m. and travel to the parking lot between Hubble and Webster Elementary.  We will put the sails on the ship at this time.  I will have a cooler of water and Gatorades.  The parade begins at 10:00 a.m.  We will need people to walk and pass out Tootsie Rolls as well as those on the float handing the walkers bricks of Tootsie Rolls.  Our DD, David Kandlbinder, along with other color guard will lead our float.   There is an attachment the tells us about the line-up for the parade.  Please hydrate on Monday to prepare for Tuesday.  They are predicting 90 degrees or more for Tuesday.   Thank you to all who will be participating in the pararde!

One other note, I have been contacing by Laura Davine who is over seeing Camp ReNewal and she said the current head count is 137 people.  We are feeding campers and staff on Thursday, July 27th.  Jerry Nehl and I are coordinating meat and sides.  More information to come soon.  Also, Friday, July 14 (5:00-7:00) is a fish fry for Don Broyles grand daughter.  I'll talk with Webster Electric about putting our banner out and we will send out a flyer on social media.

Safe travels if you are traveling the holiday weekend,

YBiC,

Gary
