There will be break out sessions covering different Vocations. First Communion is this upcoming Sunday, April 19. Deacon presented the Devine Mercy signs to the Council for the churches and for individuals.

State Community Director:

State Community Director Rocky Gambon was at the meeting this month to present the Celebrity Pro-Am that will be held on May 18 and sponsorship opportunities. This is a great opportunity to have fun and raise funds for Special Olympics. The council voted to be a hole sponsor for $250.

Grand Knight

  • Brothers, we had one heck of a Lenton Season, thank you everyone for all you do.

  • Did you read “Why do we do that?” Easter Season is a time to rest.

  • The St. Vincent DePaul dessert auction raise $3800.

  • Dave Lewis has joined the Honor Guard and has agreed to be our new Worthy Treasurer.

  • The food gathered during lent will be taken over to the Pantry later this week.

  • Duane Lavery and Mike Vineout became honorary members. Deputy Grand Knight:

The credit card machine was used much more during Lent and as more people know we have the capability the more will use it.

Financial Secretary:

  • Received a request for donation from Conception Abbey and to the Diocese of Fairbanks. We just gave to both, so we will wait on this.

  • Need to meet with Grand Knight for the SP-7 Membership

Unified exemplification is set for April 26 after 10:30 Mass at Holy Trinity.

  • Reached out to the new Catholic men that were brought in during the Easter Vigil. Most have expressed the want to be a Knight.

  • Roger will start going to Conway some, to help build relationships with the men over there. As one council serving both Parishes it is important that we have a presence in both.

    Community

  • The Cherry Blossom Festival will be coming up April 23 25.

  • The fourth of July Parade will be coming up, we plan to be in it again.

  • Springfield will host the Birthplace of Route 66 on August 7-8, 2026.

    District Deputy

Andy was unable to be at the meeting but had sent over an email on the Fourth Degree Social and training for the Honor Guard that was relayed to the council.

Chancellor

  • John read about Chirstian Meditation.

  • There are no funds right now for ramps so there is none planned.

    OLD Business: Motions

    • Coats for Kids We need sponsors. We approved $2000 but we gave out over $3000 worth. If we can get a few business sponsors locally that would be huge.

    • Eucharistic Congress We approved $1000, Bishop would still like to see all the councils represented. There are still openings, please sign up if you think you might go.

    • Books for Easter would not have made it in before Easter, so we are now planning for Pentecost Sunday to hand out books.

      New Business: Motions

Lecturer:

  • St. Vincent DePaul treasure trove event on May 2 runs 8am to 11am. Our Pancake Breakfast is set to run at the same time. Please be there at 7 to set up and get the food going. Price is set at $5 a meal.

  • May 3rd is the Crowning of Mary, we are doing a pancake breakfast for the Parish.

  • Approved $250 for the PCCW for all the help during lent.

  • Approved $100 for Walk for life team from Holy Trinity, this goes to Choices Pregnancy Center.

  • Approved $100 for the Food Pantry for Fries and a donation.

  • Approved $200 for Holy Trinity Parish Picnic.

  • Approved up to $400 for Divine Mercy yard signs, one for Holy Trinity, and one for Sacred Heart

Easter Vigil was huge, not just here but across the country. Look in this weeks bulletin at the Why do we do that.It is labeled Christian, yes.... But why should I be Catholic? In this Deacon Fritz calls out 5 reasons why we should be Catholic. We as Knights need to be able to defend our faith and to have enlightened conversations when we are asked about our faith. I will attach the article below.
