Don Broyles

Our brother knight Don Broyles has taken another bad turn, and is in need of prayers. His wonderful wife Chris has humbly asked for prayers for Don.

This is the message that I received from Deacon Mike that came from Chris. 

"Good evening! I'm humbly asking for prayers for Don. He has landed in the ER once again. Apparently he was not completely over the UTI, and now he has another hospital stay. They will be admitting him tonight, on 3B in room number 73. Don declined yesterday and began hallucinating this morning. Unsure if this will interfere with his scheduled eye surgery on Thursday. Both Don and I would certainly appreciate him being remembered in prayer. Thanks so much."

Brothers please add both Don and Chris to your prayers. 

Prayer for the sick invoking Jesus' miraculous healings

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and consoler of our weakness, who delivered Peter’s mother-in-law and the ruler’s son from a high fever; who restored strength to the paralytic, cleansed the lepers, healed the centurion’s servant; who saved the woman suffering from hemorrhage, raised up the man lying helpless on his pallet at the pool of Bethsaida, went about the towns and villages healing all kinds of ailments … may the sick … be freed from their illness and restored in body and mind, and may rightly see fit to praise your power until the end of their days; you who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

August Council Meeting

Brothers, we have our Installation of Officers, tomorrow night. Please come join us at 6:30pm we will start with some great pulled pork then at 7pm we will start the installation. When the installation is complete we will have a short meeting. Friends and families are welcome to join us, please invite any potential members.

Brothers, next Tuesday the 12th we will have the Installation of Officers this is open for family and friends to attend. Thanks to SK Gary Gray we will have pulled pork and sides to eat starting at 6:30pm, then at 7pm we will begin the installation, with a short meeting to follow. Our guests will be welcome to stay during the meeting as we will have cake and ice cream right after. Officers please wear your Knights polo or button up with nice pants, no shorts please.  During the meeting we will be discussing the fish frys and other business that is needed. If you have a prospective member, invite them to come, it should be a good time. I will send an agenda out closer to the meeting if you have something that you want to be brought up, please message and let me know so I can make sure it's on the agenda.  According to the Holy Trinity calendar there is no Mass or Reconciliation that day but there will be Adoration at 5pm. Brothers thank you for all you do and I look forward to seeing you all there.

Brothers, we have a great opportunity quickly approaching, August 23rd in Verona, MO, there is a Fourth Degree Exemplification. If you are planning on going to receive your Fourth Degree please email or message me, we need to get your form and payment sent in.I have attached the form as well, if you don't have a way to print it let me know and I can meet you with a copy. We have to get this done this week so they have an accurate headcount.

Below is the email that our Worthy District Deputy sent out today. 

"I’m asking if you all can email me back if you have paperwork that still needs to be mailed in or turned in. What I’m looking for is a head count. Right now our State West District Marshall David Govero informed me our State Master Mike Grudenski states he only has six applications and payments. Brothers, we need this information by this week. If you know you have paperwork please email me. I have included our District Marshall on this email so he too will have an idea of how we proceed forward. Thank you for all you brothers do for the Order."

While joining several of our brothers from the area for what should be a fun and informative night that will help build connections to other councils. August 7th will be our first Fraternal benefit night at the Knights Hall in Springfield. Presenter will be Ben Krapu, Asst. General Agent to John Mahon. He will be speaking about the Fraternal Benefits we receive as members of the Knights of Columbus with emphasis on Mutual Funds. Council 698 will be sponsoring the beverages and we are looking for other councils to join in for a night of brotherhood with your fellow brother Knight. This year Supreme has made it easy to complete your FBN's. This would be a good start to get the first one under our belts. Here is the agenda for the evening:

5:30 pm Rosary

6-6:45 PM Social: Food, beverage and Fraternity. 

7-8:00 pm FBN.

That's it. I would ask if you email this to your members and encourage those who want to attend to RSVP to this email. I know most of you do your own night to get these important FBN accomplished, but why not try something different. I hope to see you there.

Prayer Request

I recieved the message below from John Tieskotter about his brother-in-law, Dan Gardner. Please add him to your prayers, he is in desperate need of God's healing touch.

My brother-in-law Dan Gardner made it through surgery yesterday in La Crosse Wisconsin. They removed a portion of his pancreas,his spleen, part of his stomach and some lymph nodes. Please send out a message of prayers from our brother Knights. 4 lymph nodes came back with cancer in them. Dan is on an all liquid as of today.

Prayer for someone who is ill

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom we are praying, Dan Gardner and all those who we know that are sick) 

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen

Thank you for all the prayers for my brother-in Law Dan Gardner as he now can eat solid food that don't affect his diabetes as he's on insulin for Diabetes. He's at home recuperating from surgery. Thank you for all prayers!!!

Prayers for Morcus Family

Brothers, SK Steve Morcus reached out to me two days ago and told me that his mother, Virginia, passed away. Please keep Steve and his family in your prayers and pray for the repose of Virgina's soul. 

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God,

Don Broyles is in need of healing prayers

Our Brother Knight Don Broyles is in need of healing prayers. His wife Chris messaged Deacon Mike tonight, to let him know that she had to take Don to the ER and that they are admitting him. Don has had a very difficult two weeks leading up to this. He has a very bad UTI along with sinusitis. He is unable to hold anything down, they have him on an IV with antibiotics. The doctors expect him to be there for at least two days.  She also said thank you for all prayers generated on his behalf. 

Brothers please pray that Don receives peace, rest, and the healing touch of the Lord. Pray for Chris as well, that the Lord will grant her rest and peace during this time as well. Please share to all other prayer chains that you may be a part of. 

Prayer for the Healing of a Spouse

Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth, you live now in eternal unity with Jesus Christ, the Divine Physician. I confidently ask for your powerful intercession on behalf of Chris's  beloved husband Don Broyles who seeks to be restored to good health.

The years they have shared together, and the love they have known in thier marriage, are precious and dear. At this time her heart breaks in helplessness, but we all believe that with the Lord all things are possible.

Mary, loving spouse of St. Joseph, comfort Chris in her fears and worries, and obtain blessings for her beloved spouse so that Don may be quickly and completely restored to health. Amen

Steve Morcus Prayers

Brothers one of our own is in need of your prayers. Steve Morcus's mother Virginia is having heart problems and is not doing well. She lives in Ohio and Steve will be leaving tomorrow to be with her. She is in the ICU on a ventilator and medication. Please pray for healing and for a safe trip for Steve and his family. 

Hail MARY, full of grace, spiritual Mother to those in need, I fervently request Your heavenly intercession for, Steve Morcus's mother, Virginia who is ill and seeks God's miraculous assistance. You truly care for the sick and offer them your compassionate support in powerful acts of healing. 

Stay near to Virginia and the whole Morcus family with you maternal protection. Console the anxious hearts and grant that our sufferings be a source of purification and growth for eternal life. Amen.

Camp Renewal

Brothers, we are serving food to the kids at Camp Renewal on Thursday.  If agreed to help make sure your there, we are counting on you. If you want to help and weren't at the meeting just message me I am sure we can find a place for you. A huge thank you to SK Gary Gray for his work on this from organizing it with the staff, to getting the food, preparing the food and making sure it all gets to the kids. 

On Thursday Gary will be at the hall around noon to start warming the meat.  He will then load up and leave the hall at 3:45 and should arrive around 4:15-4:30 at the camp. This will give time to set up and not have to rush. He is going to barrow the warming totes from Jerry Nehl to take the food down there in. 

If one or two of you can meet Gary at the Hall to help warm the food and load the trays that would be great. If everyone else wants to meet at the Hall then head down there together that would work well. If your like me and unable to meet up at the Hall then be at the camp no later then 5:15pm. The food goes fast and we are usually out of there by 6:30.  Below is a copy off of Google Maps of how to get to the camp from the Marshfield overpass. The name of the camp is Camp Carlo, Conway MO but the camp site is still labeled as Beth-Eden Bible Camp.
